meet the players
Stage name: Rhonda Ealy
City of residence: Bend
Favorite quote: “Don’t die, blondie.” ~ The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Favorite movie: "Rushmore"
Favorite game: Majong

As an owner of a busy Organic coffee roaster and café, Rhonda began taking Improv classes with Michelle Johnson of Bend Comedy Mill in hopes of dealing with stress and staving off Alzheimer’s. She would never have guessed that three years later, she would be regularly performing Improv with an audience, much less succeeding Michelle as director of the group.

Other interests include co-hosting Radio Airstream on 106.7 KPOV (SA 9 am) and sitting on the Board of Bend Theatre for Young People, a non-profit performing Arts School.

Stage name: David "Dave" Fuller
City of residence: Bend
Favorite Central Oregon restaurant: 28
Guilty pleasure: Wine, chocolate and……!
Favorite color: Black

Dave has been in central Oregon since the late 70's and has seen the town grow in artistic value and choices. A frustrated rock musician since high school, Dave has learned to play the bass guitar and has played with "The Participants," a local jam band.

For years, Dave was part of the St Francis men's choir and continues to sing with the Central Oregon Gospel singers. Recently, Dave was part of the cast of the stage production of "The Full Monty" at 2nd St Theater.

Dave enjoyed roles in the soon-to-be-released movies, "Man Maid" and "Wings of Faith."  Dave is a member of the Film Oregon Alliance.  When Dave is not acting, singing or playing music, you can find him at work as a dentist in Bend.

Stage name: Judi Van Houweling
City of residence: Bend
Favorite quote: "No more soup for you! Next!" ~ The Soup Nazi
Favorite stage production: "West Side Story"
Car of Judi's dreams: Porsche Boxster

Judi credits her skills as a performer to her work for 26 years as a classroom teacher where she always had a "captive audience." She has performed comic improv with Triage for the past three years and has recently signed on as an actor with Buckboard Productions, which specializes in dinner theater murder mysteries.

Stage name: Peter Gunby
City of residence: Bend
Favorite Central Oregon restaurant: Backyard barbeque
Favorite actor: Jack Black
Favorite actress: Cate Blanchett
Favorite dessert: Watermelon

Peter's defining characteristic is his clumsiness; running into people with quirky humor, he stumbled into Improv, and has fallen flat on his face on stage. To finely hone his talent for accidents, he participates in dangerous outdoor activities with reckless abandon. When he's not injured or in traction, Peter may be found working as a General Manager. using offensive analogies or drawing meaningless diagrams. Peter was recently quoted, "Triage has been cheaper than therapy and I'm making progress--I don't mind when people laugh at me as much."

Stage name: Angela Dean Lund
City of residence: Sisters
Favorite quote: “Just smile and wave boys. Smile and wave.” ~ Skipper from Madagascar
Guilty pleasure: People Magazine (but have been tabloid free for weeks!)
Favorite stage production: Guys and Dolls

Angela got her start in the comedy circuit back in 1975 when she performed one-girl variety shows for her family. She showed multiple talents by lip synching to the Captain and Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together" and by reenacting cat food commercials. Angela took a few years off from comedy to add three children to her fan base. Listen close during her performances and you can hear at least one chanting, "Mom, you're nuts." Angela doesn't despair because of her critics, though. She's ever ready to lip synch to the Captain and Tennille. When not making people laugh, Angela can be found working at Angeline's Bakery in Sisters and volunteering at her children's schools.

Stage name: Bruce “Bruce” Moon
City of residence: Bend
Favorite Central Oregon restaurant: Deep (which he hasn’t actually been to yet because of funding. He likes standing outside the entrance “checking” the menu. Sponsors are welcome).
Preferred Central Oregon season Tourist Hunting (summer)
Favorite stage production: The Full Monty

Rather than the all-too-common overstatement “I’ll try anything once,” Bruce believes in starting conversations by lying all the same that he likes trying everything about halfway.

He entertains the notion that people can accept him for liking both cats and dogs. He owns the Tumalo Outpost, a multi-tasking media and postal service out there in the quasi-township of Tumalo. He does not believe Tumalo should secede from the nation, nor from the City of Bend. Yet.

Bruce was in The Full Monty at Bend’s 2nd Street Theater Spring of 2007, playing at least three parts, but showing none.

His motto onstage: “Half this audience secretly longs for the return of disco and I’m going to give it to them!”

Stage name: Carolyn Platt
City of residence: Sisters
Favorite actors: “Alan Rickman, Dustin Hoffman, John Lithgow

Carolyn poses as a middle school drama teacher. She figures if she can make people believe that’s what she is, then she can be one. She’s also the art teacher making things out of junk and recycling just about everything including intentions, her “to do” list, and dust bunnies. She always lives in cities that start with "S” (Seattle, Sisters, and Salt Lake). After the insanity with students all day, Carolyn wants to play. Also, being required to think fast in improve is a great work out for a boomer brain.

Stage name: Monterey Morrissey
City of residence: Redmond
Favorite Central Oregon restaurant: Toomies
Favorite board game: Monopoly
Favorite color: Blue

An experienced voiceover actor, Monterey parlays his varied stage and microphone experience into unforgettable characters and often bizarre slices of life.  One of the three directors of the Film Oregon Alliance, Monterey relishes the foundation improvisation provides to all aspects of performing.

Stage name: Lisa Bergren-Fetrow
City of residence: Sisters
Favorite quote: “"Who do you have to know to get a break in this town?!" ~ from The Producers
Guilty pleasure: Reese's Peanut Butter cups
Favorite actor: Cary Grant
Favorite actress: Myrna Loy

Lisa has been in love with performing arts since she was a youngster. She appeared in several high school plays--often in the background. After taking time off to earn a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and get married, she returned to the stage. She has participated in Sisters community theatre groups since the 1980's and in a CTC production of "Oliver." She started taking improv classes from Michelle Johnson and has not looked back. "I love the goofiness and the chance to perform."

Stage name: Mike Ficher
City of residence: Bend
Favorite quote: "I'm attempting to construct a mnemonic memory circuit, using stone knives and bearskins." ~ Mr. Spock
Favorite movie: Back to the Future series
Favorite color: Orange

In addition to his full-time profession as a financial analyst, Mike is a local radio personality (Ultimate Oldies Show, 106.7 KPOV, TU 6-8 pm; voice of Crook County HS sports on AM690 KRCO) and has appeared in several local television and radio commercials.

Mike enjoyed a key role in the short film, “Wings of Faith,” currently in post-production, playing a fortune teller. Mike teaches the art of improv at BEAT, a local non-profit theatre group for young performers.

Mike's motto on stage: “Let’s get physical, take one for the team and have some fun!”
